Marissa spent years searching for confidence, happiness, and a sense of being enough — always wishing these tools were shared earlier in life. When she discovered the power of self-love, mindfulness, and holistic wellness, one question stayed with her: Why aren’t these lessons introduced to girls sooner?
Some schools and families foster this kind of growth early on, while others simply aren’t sure where to start. And with today’s added pressures from school, social media, and society, girls need more support than ever -- especially for girls ages 8–14, when self-esteem often wobbles.
So, she created LUMA GIRLS -- a community where girls can feel seen, supported and truly shine. A place where they learn to love who they are, build confidence from the inside out, and know that they don't have to be perfect to be extraordinary. Because at LUMA GIRLS, she’ll always have a place to shine.

We believe in building each other up — real friendships, support, and feel-good vibes. At LUMA, girls connect, laugh, and grow together in a safe, nurturing space. We put a special focus on the power of sisterhood. Sisterhood means more than just friendship. It’s about creating a community where every girl feels seen, heard, and valued for who she truly is. We teach kindness, empathy, and the tools to build meaningful, lasting relationships. Through shared experiences, laughter, and support, girls learn that they are never alone and always stronger together.
WELLNESS
We nurture the whole girl — mind, body, and spirit. At LUMA GIRLS, wellness means building healthy habits that help girls feel strong, balanced, and joyful. Our approach to wellness is holistic and empowering. We teach girls self-care practices like mindfulness, movement, and emotional awareness that support their overall wellbeing. By learning how to manage stress and cultivate self-love, girls gain tools to navigate life with confidence and resilience. Wellness at LUMA is about helping every girl feel vibrant, healthy, and ready to shine from the inside out.
MAGIC
We add a touch of magic to everything we do. Learning and growth should be fun, playful, and full of wonder. We believe every girl has unique superpowers waiting to shine. At LUMA GIRLS, we celebrate her inner magic and encourage her to glow with unapologetic brilliance. Our events and community are filled with joy, creativity, and sparkle — making every moment a chance to discover something extraordinary. We believe in the power of wonder to inspire courage, creativity, and endless possibilities.

At LUMA GIRLS, our approach blends mindful self-care practices rooted in science and sprinkled with magic- designed with girls ages 8-14 in mind.
These habits nurture the whole girl — mind, body, and spirit. By engaging in wellness practices, girls will gain lifelong tools for self-care, stress management, and personal empowerment.
Our evidence-based LUMA Lifestyle tools empower girls to build resilience, find balance, and shine with their unique inner light. They can carry these supportive habits into their everyday life, laying a strong foundation of healthy living for now and the future.

MARISSA PHELPS
Marissa holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Fordham University, specializing in Management and International Business. With nearly 15 years of experience in sales and recruiting, her career has taken her from San Francisco to Hong Kong, Kauai, and Philadelphia.
Passionate about inspiring confidence and mindfulness in young women, Marissa earned multiple wellness certifications and co-founded Zen Den in 2020, a space dedicated to holistic healing for adults. This journey naturally blossomed into LUMA GIRLS—a vibrant wellness lifestyle brand created just for girls.
Today, Marissa champions young women’s wellness as a leader, mentor, and safe sister—empowering the next generation to embrace their magic, build resilience, and chase their dreams with courage.

LINDSEY PHELPS

“Every girl holds her own kind of magic.”
Lindsey holds an M.S. in Education from The College of Saint Rose and is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist. She’s also a proud mom to the most adorable toddler.
Her love of travel and diverse experiences took her to Hawaii, where she taught elementary school for nearly a decade. A journey of personal growth led her into the wellness world, and now, back home, she blends holistic and spiritual techniques into her massage therapy practice.
With her strong teaching background and holistic training, Lindsey leads curriculum development at LUMA GIRLS—crafting empowering educational content that inspires the next generation of young women to embrace wellness inside and out.
